What is a card verification transaction?

When you add a new card to a payment service like PayPal, Google Pay, Apple Pay, or simply make an online payment, the payment processor will sometimes enter a transaction of 0, or a very small amount of your local currency, to verify your card details. This means that your account isn't charged because of this verification. We’ll mark transactions like these as ‘Card verification’ in-app, so you know why they’ve happened.
