Switch my Revolut account to a bank outside Netherlands
If you're interested in switching your Revolut account to another bank, or payment service provider (PSP) in an EU Member State other than the Netherlands, please contact us to let us know.
What we'll do after receiving your request
- Give you a list of all your existing recurring transfers and Direct Debits (if any). We'll also give you any available information on periodic credit transfers and user-initiated Direct Debit transactions on your payment account within the last 13 months
- Transfer the remaining positive balance in your Revolut account to the account held by you at the new PSP. If you're part of a Group Pocket, you'll have to close it (if you're the admin) or have your access removed
- If you want, we’ll close your Revolut account. We won't charge you to keep a Standard plan account, even if you don’t use it. We don't recommend closing your Revolut account, as it can take some time to set up a new account later if want to use Revolut again
Closure process
If you still want to close your Revolut account, you need to liquidate any open trading positions and move any funds in other Pockets to your new external account.
We'll perform the actions above on a date requested by you. This date must be at least six business days from the date we first receive your request (with all the required information) to switch your account to a different provider.
We'll also let you know if we're unable to close your account, e.g. if you have an active, unpaid credit product with us or a negative balance.
Data retention and fees
We'll keep your data for five years after closing your account to follow regulations, such as anti-money laundering laws and general bookkeeping obligations.
Revolut won't charge you or the receiving provider to use our Account Switching Service. This is in line with our regulatory obligations.
