What happens if one account holder can no longer make decisions in relation to the joint account?

If one account holder can no longer make decisions in relation to the joint account (because of ill-health, for example), the other account holder can manage the joint account on their behalf. This can only be done by sending us a duly authorised power of attorney document.

I’d like to close my joint account:

If you have the necessary authorisation for the other account holder, you can close your joint account once the balance is returned to zero.

To learn how to close your joint account in-app, you can refer to section 11 of our Joint Accounts T&Cs on this page.
