Switch my Revolut account to another bank or provider

If you want to switch your Revolut account to another bank or payment service provider (PSP), you need to contact that provider to start the account switching process. After receiving your request, we'll carry out the following tasks, provided they are included in the scope of the request:

  • Provide you and the new PSP with a list of all your existing standing transfer orders, authorisations for direct debit, recurring credit transfers and recurring direct debits that have been executed on the your payment account in the last 13 months
  • No longer accept credit transfers and direct debits
  • Cancel standing transfer orders from the date specified
  • Transfer the remaining positive balance to the account held with the new PSP on the date specified
  • Transfer fees may apply — please see our Price List
  • Close your Revolut account on the date specified, if requested

Closure process

When switching accounts, you can choose to close your Revolut account. To do so, you must request it in the authorisation you send to your destination provider. We don't recommend closing your Revolut account, as it can take a bit of time to set up a new account with the same mobile number.

We'll close your account on the date requested, which can't be earlier than 13 business days from when we first receive your request. All the sub-accounts of your main account, like Revolut Kids & Teens, will also be terminated. Any benefit you have within your paid plan, will also be terminated.

The request to close your account will also imply closing any Joint or RevPro accounts that you have with us. We'll also let you know in case we can't close your account (for example, if you have a credit product with us or a negative balance on your account).

Other Revolut entities

Check if closing your account may affect your relationship with any other Revolut entities, and take the steps needed to avoid any negative impact. For example, Revolut Securities Europe UAB may require you to liquidate any open trading positions and move funds to your account.

We'll keep your data for seven years after closing your account to follow regulations, such as anti-money laundering laws and general bookkeeping obligations. Revolut won't charge you for the account switching service.
