Why is my transfer to a bank account still pending?
When you make a transfer, it can take extra time to be sent to your recipient in some situations. This is known as a pending transfer, and it may occur for several reasons:
- Being sent on a weekend or bank holiday when there’s no processing
- Additional processing checks
- Additional information required
- Incorrect recipient details
- Currency or payment scheme used for transfer not being supported by recipient or recipient bank
When will the transfer go through?
A transfer may remain pending for up to 72 hours. In most cases, a transfer will eventually be marked as completed after a few hours.
If the transfer fails and doesn’t reach the recipient, the transaction will be reverted, and the funds should be available in your Revolut account promptly. To learn more about the potential reasons for a failed transfer, read this article.
