Receiving UK social benefits on Revolut
How do I receive my DWP benefits on Revolut?
You can have your Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) benefits and pensions paid directly into your Revolut GBP account.
Simply copy your sort code and account number by tapping Details on your GBP account screen in the app and share these details with the DWP by updating your online Universal Credit journal or contacting your designated work coach.
When will my DWP benefit payment arrive?
DWP payments are sent via the non-instant BACS system, which can take up to 3 working days to arrive to your account.
These payments typically arrive to your account between 01:00 and 07:00 on your scheduled payday.
If your scheduled payment date falls on a weekend or a bank holiday, the DWP will usually pay you on the working day immediately before or after.
Can Revolut track or speed up my incoming benefit payment?
No, Revolut cannot track, locate, or influence the status of your transfer while it is being cleared by the sending bank or the BACS network. We have no visibility of the transaction before it arrives in our system.
As soon as the funds reach us, they are immediately credited to your account, and you will receive a push notification.
What should I do if my payment is missing?
- Log into your online Universal Credit account or DWP portal to check your awards notice, verify your scheduled payment date, and look for any messages that might indicate a claim hold
- Check the Revolut app to make sure there are no identity verification banners requiring action, as incomplete checks can sometimes cause a received transfer to be held as pending
- If your DWP portal is clear and the 3-working-day window has passed, contact the appropriate DWP helpline directly (such as the Universal Credit helpline at 0800 328 5644 or the PIP line at 0800 121 4433) to request a trace, as only the sender can initiate a search for missing payments
