What transactions earn points and other rewards?
You earn IHG One Rewards points and other IHG rewards on eligible, completed card payments made with your IHG x Revolut Card. You must use your card directly for a card payment at a merchant — bank transfers, Revolut Pay payments, and other non-card-payment transactions do not earn points.
If a transaction is refunded or reversed, the points or progress earned on that transaction are deducted at the same rate they were earned. This can result in a negative points balance for the 14-day cycle, which is carried forward until cleared by new positive earnings.
The number of points you earn depends on whether you spend at IHG hotels or not, where the merchant is located, and your subscription tier. See this FAQ to know more about the points earn rates that apply.
What transactions are not eligible?
Bank transfers, Revolut Pay payments, and other non-card-payment transactions do not earn points or count for rewards achievement progress. Additionally, spend at certain merchants does not qualify as eligible spend, including but not limited to:
- Financial, payment, and insurance services, money transfers, wallet top-ups, crypto, and Brokerage
- Tax, fines, penalties, and other government or judicial payments
- Lottery, gambling, utilities, charities, political/religious organisations, educational institutions, and tobacco retailers
- Specialised and B2B services (real estate, postal, parking, cleaning, maintenance, and advertising)
- Fraudulent, unauthorised, or network-excluded transactions
