Personal data required to create a Revolut account

We ask for these details when you try to open an account. Once an account is opened, you can check your details through the ‘Profile’ section. Find the ‘Profile’ section by tapping your profile picture or initials in the top-left corner of the Revolut app. Here’s the details we need:

  • Name
  • Phone number
  • Date of birth
  • Email address
  • Country of residence
  • Home address
  • Valid identity documents
  • A 'selfie' photo, video and/or voice recording (where permitted by law)
  • Purpose of your Revolut account
  • Gender (only if we're required by law to ask for this)
  • Place of birth (only if we're required by law to ask for this)
  • Occupation (only if we're required by law to ask for this)
  • Tax number and residency (only if we're required by law to ask for this)

We ask for these details to verify your identity, protect you against fraud, and be able to bring you our services securely. To access certain products, we may ask for more information or documentation. We'll always explain to you why we need this information when we ask you for it.
