Getting started with Street Mode
Street Mode is a transfer limits feature that provides an extra layer of protection against phone theft or coercion.
Street Mode is disabled by default. Once enabled, you can set up 'trusted locations'. Outside of these locations, you'll need to wait one hour and perform a selfie check before the transfer can be completed.
This means if your phone is stolen and taken outside a trusted location, your account is protected so that someone else can't access your account or transfer money out of it.
How to set up Street Mode
To activate Street Mode in the Revolut app:
- Tap your profile icon in the top-left corner
- Tap 'Security' and select 'Wealth protection'
- Select 'Transfers'
- Turn on 'Street Mode' using the toggle on the screen
- Follow the steps to enable location-based protection and set up your 'Trusted locations'
If you enable Street Mode, you'll need to set a minimum transfer limit.
To add, amend, or remove a trusted location
- Head to 'Transfers' in the Wealth Protection section of your Security Hub
- Tap 'Trusted locations'
- Select the location you want to amend or remove
- Update location details or tap 'Remove' in the top-right corner
There's no limit to the number of trusted locations you can have at once. You can set up trusted locations by searching for an address within your region, or selecting an address outside of your region directly on the map. To add another trusted location:
- Head to 'Transfers' in the Wealth Protection section of your Security Hub
- Tap 'Trusted locations'
- Tap 'Add new' and follow the steps to add a location
How to turn off Street Mode
- Head to 'Transfers' in the Wealth Protection section of your Security Hub
- Turn off 'Street Mode' using the toggle on the screen
With Street Mode on, SEPA instant transfers and other instant services like WERO, Pix, Bizum, Blik, and iDEAL will be declined if they exceed your limit and are initiated outside of your trusted location. You'll be redirected to your Wealth Protection settings to adjust the limit.
Street Mode is an optional security feature and does not guarantee complete protection.
