Once your application for a credit card is approved, there's no need to wait for a physical card to start making purchases. By creating a virtual card in-app, you can start making purchases online or add it to Apple or Google Pay to make contactless payments.

Once you've received your physical card, you can use it in all the usual ways, including cash withdrawals from ATM's (fees might apply).
