What’s a top-up chargeback?
When you add money to your Revolut account using a bank card, there's a possibility that the external bank may reverse the transaction. This is known as a top-up chargeback.
What happens to the money?
If you have a top-up chargeback, the transaction amount will be temporarily deducted from your account and placed on hold while the reversal is disputed.
Here’s what happens next:
- If the bank you transferred money from wins the dispute, your account with them will be refunded
- If they lose the dispute, the money will be refunded to your Revolut account
For updates on your dispute, please contact your bank.
If your Revolut account balance is negative because of a top-up chargeback, please refer to this FAQ.
