Unsupported cards for Apple Pay and Google Pay deposits

Not all cards added to your Apple Pay or Google Pay wallet will be available for topping up your Revolut account.

To check which cards can be used, go to your Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.

Apple Pay

You should see a logo displayed on the card you wish to use.

  • Cards displaying the Visa or Mastercard logo (alone or alongside the iD or QUICPay logo) can be used for adding money to your Revolut account
  • Cards displaying only the iD or QUICPay logo and transport cards (like Suica and Pasmo) don't support Visa or Mastercard contactless and can't be used for adding money to your Revolut account

In the Revolut app, while trying to add money to your account via Apple Pay, if the card isn't enabled for online payments, it will be greyed out and listed under 'Not enabled for in-app payments'.

Google Pay

Depending on your card network, when adding a card to Google Wallet, you can choose between Visa or Mastercard contactless, or iD or QUICPay.

  • Cards added as Visa or Mastercard contactless will be supported for topping your Revolut account. To confirm this, check if a round contactless logo appears on the right-hand side of the card after you add it
  • If you added the card as iD or QUICPay previously, but want to use that card to top up your Revolut account, you'll need to re-add it as Visa or Mastercard contactless

In the Revolut app, if there are no cards in your Google Wallet available for topping up your account, you should see the message 'There are no payment methods available'.

If you need support, reach out to your card issuer.

Other unsupported cards

There are some cards that won't be supported, even if they comply with the requirements outlined above.

These cards have been made unavailable to improve your experience as a customer given your card issuer will always decline the transactions.

These cards are:

  • SMCC-issued prepaid cards
  • SMCC Olive cards through Apple Pay
  • VISA debit cards in Apple Pay are not supported

If you would like to top up your account with your Olive card via Apple Pay, visit this website to learn how to get the credit card number and add it to your Apple Wallet.
