Fraud and cybercrime reporting to national authorities

If you have been a victim of fraud, your first step should always be to submit a fraud report. Afterwards, use the guidance below to report the incident to the appropriate national authorities.

Japan

  • Report cybercrime to the National Police Cyber Team at npa.go.jp/bureau/cyber/soudan.html
  • Contact the cybercrime counselling desk of your local prefectural police department
  • Report general fraud in person at your local police station
  • Submit reports for illegal or harmful information online to the Internet Hotline Centre (IHC) at internethotline.jp
  • Consult the National Consumer Affairs Centre of Japan for fraud-related matters at kokusen.go.jp/map/
