What are scam messages?

Fraudsters often use realistic-looking emails or texts to make you click links, fill out forms, or open attachments containing viruses. Once engaged, fraudsters will ask you or cause you to share account credentials, passwords, or card numbers, allowing them to access your money.

What can I do to avoid scams?

  1. Pay extra attention to email or SMS notifications. If a notification doesn't come from the same number as before, it might be from a fake source.
  2. If you’re unsure who the sender is, don't reply.
  3. Double-check the details before you make a payment.
  4. Avoid making hasty decisions.
  5. Carefully consider who you might be speaking to.
  6. Check the email address of the sender for typos or suspicious formats. Most companies will use their own domain‌ names, in the correct order. For example, if you receive an email from [email protected], it’s a scam.
