Applying for the Basic Credit Card
How do I apply for a Basic Credit Card?
You can't apply directly for a Basic Credit Card. First, request a Revolut Credit Card in-app. Then, contact Support to convert it to a Basic Credit Card. If your balance is MXN 0 and you're eligible, we'll send you a contract. After signing, we'll confirm the conversion. To apply for a Credit Card:
- Go to ‘Home’ on the bottom menu
- Tap the cards icon in the top-right corner of your screen
- Tap ‘Add new+’
- Select ‘Credit Card’ and follow the steps on-screen to apply for a credit card
If you already have a Revolut Credit Card, you can contact Customer Support and request the change once you are sure that you meet the requirements (a balance of MXN 0) for a Basic Credit Card.
Can I apply for multiple Basic Credit Cards?
No, you can only have one Basic Credit Card linked to your account.
How long to process my Basic Credit Card conversion?
The review process typically takes 1-3 business days (from when you submit the request). If your credit balance is not MXN 0, you must clear it before the process can continue. Once approved, your Basic Credit Card is activated immediately.
Can I request a Basic Credit Card upgrade later?
No, once you switch to a Basic Credit Card, you cannot upgrade back to a standard Revolut Credit Card, you will have to cancel your Credit Card and apply again.
