Reasons to dispute a card transaction:

If you don't recognise a transaction in your account, and you believe your card might be compromised. For how to report fraud, go to this FAQ.

If you recognise the transaction, but you now know the merchant is a fraudster or scammer. For example, if the online website no longer exists. For how to report fraud, go to this FAQ

If you recognise the transaction and the merchant is legitimate, but there’s something wrong with the transaction, such as being overcharged, receiving the wrong item/service (or nothing at all), item/service is not as expected, or never received a promised refund.
